I recently partnered up with PinkBlush as a Style Ambassador. So exciting! When it came time to order, I wasn’t sure if I should go with my classic style or more trendier pieces. This is when I realized, I inadvertently have created a capsule wardrobe.
CAPSULE WARDROBE?
According to Wikipedia, a capsule wardrobe is a term coined by Susie Faux, the owner of a London boutique called “Wardrobe” in the 1970s. According to Faux, a capsule wardrobe is a collection of a few essential items of clothing that don’t go out of fashion, such as skirts, trousers, and coats, which can then be augmented with seasonal pieces.
Up until a few months ago, I had never even heard of a capsule wardrobe. I thought it was a new concept but it’s been around for decades and I, without realizing have subscribed to this concept for decades as well. I naturally tend to gravitate towards classic and basic pieces that I can wear interchangeably season after season.
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
I like to invest in quality pieces when I am choosing staple pieces. Since, I tend to wear pieces for years, I want them to last. If I really love an item, I will buy it in different colors or a duplicate for back up & to extend wear. On occasion, I do buy inexpensive trendy pieces to add and mix in with my existing pieces.
WHY PINKBLUSH?
Versatility is key in the land of motherhood and PinkBlush makes it easier than ever to create a staple wardrobe with styles that can be worn during pregnancy, into motherhood and beyond. WHAT DID I ORDER?

I ended up choosing two dresses this time. The first is this White Striped Sleeveless Ribbed Side Slit Maxi Dress I love this silhouette, it’s so flattering, comfortable and very versatile. You can easily transition it from Spring to Summer and even into Fall. Plus, next to leopard, white and black stripes is my favorite print.
The second item is the ever classic, Chambray Button Up Dress

Everyone needs some chambray in their life, right? This dress has the classic shirt dress cut that will never go out of style and versatility is endless. Easily can be worn all year!
This wraps up part 1 of my Capsule Wardrobe Series. Be sure to check back for part 2!
