After the whirlwind of the holidays we decided to take some to time to relax, refresh and reconnect as a family. We checked into one of the best kept secrets in town, the Four Seasons Residence Club in north San Diego. Just 30 mins from our front door.
Nestled in the foothills of one of my favorite coastal cities in San Diego, Carlsbad. With picturesque views of the Batiquitos lagoon, golf course, rolling foothills and lush greens. Our luxurious residential style villa was fully equipped with a full kitchen, living & dining room, fireplace & washer/dryer. The perfect home away from home but with resort style service. Seriously, you are tucked away in this gorgeous, spacious villa but have 5 star service on stand by. It was a dream!
So, we arrived on a Friday afternoon, the boys were greeted with a personalized message written on the bathroom mirror, child sized robes and chocolate cookie dough for us to bake fresh cookies. I popped open a bottle of rose and we dove right in to baking cookies. Let the R&R (relax & rose) begin!
Our most favorite feature of our 1 bedroom villa, was the bedroom. It was so nice to put the boys to sleep, at their usual bedtime and have the rest of the villa to ourselves, for the rest of the night. On Friday night, I got to take a nice long bath, Graig poured me a glass of rose and dropped a bath balm in. It was heaven.
The next morning, we tapped into that 5 star service. I ordered breakfast, while the boys took a bubble bath. Breakfast arrived and it was set up for us while the boys wrapped themselves up in their very own bath robes. We ate out on the balcony and and shared a meal. Such a great way to slow down and reconnect. The boys looked adorable in their little robes and the views were just spectacular.
Amenities
SO much to do, there really is no need to leave if you don’t want to. They have a spa, Driftwood. It features 3 treatment rooms a nail salon and a relaxation lounge. The nature’s body polish is on my list for next time, “An aromatic citrus-kombucha wash followed by an almond-orange fruit-and-nut scrub helps treat sun damage and pigmentation during this invigorating full body polish.” Doesn’t that sound amazing?
They have two club house, two swimming pools & two children’s wading pool. Score! The wading pools are 1′ deep and this mom’s dream. I loved the pool area near the Meadow’s village best. It’s bigger, more lounge chairs and areas to hang out. One of Hudson’s favorite amenities is the ping pong tables. We had many fun matches there!
Date Night!
Graig and I did something we’ve never done before, had a date at night! We typically do day dates, it’s just what has worked best for our family. Well, the resort offers, a “kid’s night out” at the 760 Kids Club. We signed up for Saturday night, the program starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm. They have staff on sight to supervise and coordinate games, movies, crafts and activities for the children. Dinner is included for the little ones a well. In the summer, they offer supervised outdoor play! Which would come in super handy when you have more than one child. We were at the kids club A LOT during our stay. The really nice part is it’s in the one of the clubhouses. The parents can be hanging out in the clubhouse, having a cocktail, watching tv, playing pool or just hanging out and the kids club is just steps away, in the same building. It is unsupervised for the most part and little ones need to be 7 or older to stay there unsupervised but it was such a nice feature.
Graig and I had dinner at Seasons Restaurant for our date night. Seasons specializes in farm to table with a focus on local & seasonal ingredients. The restaurant itself is stunning, very cool & sexy, the epitome of California coast chic. The service is exactly that of what you an envision a Four Seasons to be, first class. The chef personally delivered our food and let me just say, it was fantastic.
However, the star of the show and owner of my heart, the dessert. Just wow! The chef did a phenomenal job and we had an amazing time.
The next morning,
I took a nice walk and stopped for my daily caffeine fix at the coffee shop. See you NEVER had to leave, they have everything! The coffee shop offers some lovely seasonal drinks and my absolute favorite was the eggnog latte. So good!
Back at the villa we packed our stuff up before heading to the kids club for one last hurrah and then back to Seasons for some lunch. This time the ambiance was different, the restaurant was still stunning but now flooded with natural light and much more lively. Perfect for families. Yay! Again, the food & service was spectacular. The boys were over the moon to eat where daddy and mommy had their date. Perfect way to end our little getaway.
I filmed some stories for my Instagram, you can watch them here!
