This weekend we hit the pause button and took some much needed time off. We checked into the gorgeous Paradise Point Resort and Spa in San Diego.

We stayed in one of their Bayside Bungalows which is right on the sand, fire pit included. I shared the amazing location in my Instagram stories.

This resort is phenomenal! You get the secluded island vibes and the convenience of location. The property is just minutes from the San Diego Zoo, downtown, SeaWorld, Balboa Park and so much more.  The resort sits on a 44 acre island and features 5 swimming pools, 5 dining venues, marina, beach bonfire pits, award winning spa and endless recreational activities.

Accommodations

Our coastal chic beach bungalow featured a full living and dining room, wet bar with a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. It includes the key to a relaxing family vacation, a separate bedroom.  This allows you to put the kiddos down for naps or bedtime without having to turn in yourself.  The bedroom was huge and gorgeous, just like rest of our bungalow.

The star of the show and the reason we came, the patio!  The patio is just steps from the sand and it has a gas fire pit- where we sat, under the moon and roasted marshmallows.  It was the perfect way to end the day.  We had big plans of enjoying a bottle of wine out here after the boys went to bed but, I ended up falling asleep with them! So much for the not turning in with the kids.

Dining

The resort features 5 different dining options.  Something for everyone and every occasion.  We had the pleasure of dining at Tidal .  The restaurant itself is set in what was a private beach house in the 60’s, built by a Hollywood producer. Yolo! The restaurant now is modern and sexy.  I was very impressed with the giant glass doors and exquisite decor.  So, I was a little disappointed when the waitress led us to our table outside, I was envisioning myself in the beautiful table settings inside but wow, the views quickly snapped me out of my sorrow.

The views are incredible.  I was born and raised in San Diego and I cannot believe I had never been here before.  The restaurant sits perched right up top of Mission Bay.  The bay on this side is not very active, with water goers so, you just get to enjoy the stillness and glorious sunset.

As for the food, again top notch and mind blown. It was fantastic, every member of our family, from the littlest to the oldest was very satisfied and  impressed. Our service was great, we let our waiter know that we were on borrowed time with the boys and they didn’t miss a beat.  We had our food in a timely manner and they checked in on us constantly.  It was fantastic.

I highly recommend Paradise Point Resort & Spa for your next vacation or staycation in San Diego. The resort is perfect for families and really anyone.  They have so much to do and see.  We cannot wait to go back!
